Andrew

Andrew Years ago when my kids were little, and I was feeding a family of 5 on cab driver earnings. A Russian woman, Ala was a regular. I complained about being poor. She patted me on the shoulder and said, "You're broke now Andrew, that's far different than being poor. Poor is not being able to appreciate the beauty in the wo...rld around you. Broke is just not having money. I know you well enough you'll never be poor. There's no shame in being broke." That stayed with me, and buoyed my spirits at the time. It doesn't change the fact though, it's hard to appreciate anything if you're hungry. If your kids are hungry, there's no harder thing for a parent.

Jim Johnson It's hard to know that some of us in America go hungry to bed at night or can't eat breakfast (THE most important meal) 'cause they can't afford it.
