I am furious that you made this movie. I feel like what India Arie said in her song, I am not my hair but despite how i feel I am judged on my hair. We already get a lot of questions about our hair now they will just talk about us even more. Not accepted by the black or white community.

I also think that you should have looked at all races not just black women. i feel like you pimped us out. Just so that you could make a dollar and stay in the netertainment game. I think you should focus on perfecting your acting skills. This was not done in the most positive light at all.

I may not be your number one fan but surely I am proud of you. Your acting through the years and you sense of humor has paid off. Im pissed Chris! im in bloomington, indiana going to Indiana University for school and i have been dying to see this movie for months. I planned to see it today been I realize that only two movie theater in the entire state is showing this movie and both of them are about a 3-4hour drive away. This is some bull, much success to you, and hopefully ill be able to see the movie when it comes out on dvd. :(

Finally saw Good Hair yesterday.
LOVED it. It was funny, and I was at times shocked and amazed...and saddened at the things I heard and saw.
And I'm a black woman!
Do I have "good" hair? I don't know. As far as I'm concerned, it's "good".
I don't straighten my hair. I completely stopped texturizing it when I moved from L.A. to Vegas where the lack of humidity and the hard water took my hair out in patches.... See More
Since I stopped putting chemicals in my hair, it's been healthy. All I do is keep it cut short.
I wear my hair anywhere from "can see scalp" in the summertime, to about 1"-2" long in the winter.
And I don't give a damn if men don't like it. If a dude doesn't like my short, natural hair, then that's HIS problem, not mine.
The most moving and enlightening thing I saw in the film was the women in India who shave their heads to keep a promise to God. "It's just hair." said one.
Contrasted with the "don't ever touch my $1500 hair" women, it's quite an eye-opener.
And then there was the woman who is completely bald due to a medical condition. She doesn't hide it, and she's beautiful.
All I can say, after seeing this movie, is that I'm glad I don't have any children. Especially GIRL children.
It would break my heart to hear what Rock's little daughter asked him: "Why don't I have 'good' hair?"
