Thanks, DS... just put your car in your nice garage while the rest of us try to figure out where the plows will be when the cross streets don't have anything labeled with a house number...

Over time, many city residents seem to feel entitled to the public streets as "their" private parking space. WRONG! You must pay for one. It is called a spot on YOUR property or one you rent one from someone else. Garage is optional. But, if the street is your only back-up plan, then pay attention to the plows and the rules! Ticketed and towed-your fault for not paying attention!

Damn idiot drivers, don't you realize we have 6 inches of slush and ice on the highways. There are only a few rules to driving on the highway, 1. Drive straight. 2. Signal to change lanes or to leave the highway. 3. Don't hit other cars. 4. Realize that you can not drive through the center median or cement barriers.

With it being the holidays they will not declare till after Christmas.

Roger, that's a terrible idea. The snow emergency rules help us in the long run. I've lived in cities where they don't have a system like this, and after a few snowfalls the roads get so narrow that you can't park on them.

snow emergencies routes are permanently marked with blue street signs and red snow emergency route signs. the rules for when and where you can park are on the website. If you don't have internet access, you can watch a newscast, read a newspaper, sign up for phone or text alerts or twitter, or call 612-348-snow. They spell it out pretty clearly for you there.
