City of Minneapolis Because forecasts call for continuing snowfall overnight and the timing of the major holiday, the City of Minneapolis is not declaring a Snow Emergency on Thursday, Dec. 24, but will continue to plow through the night and into Friday. Keep checking back for more information.

Yes, if you are not home it is your responsibility to find someone to clear your sidewalks. Either have an agreement with your neighbors to clear your walks or hire a snow removal company (or neighborhood kids) to do it. If you don't, you can be cited and fined (not to mention being frowned upon by the rest of your neighbors).
