Skype teaching has been going phenomenal. My heart smiles each time the girls laugh and learn something new. I have had the privilege along with other people to share the happiness the girls bring into our lives through Skype...

Our last trip was the first of the semester and also the first of implementing our full fledged teaching programs. We had five people one the trip, whom were all officers. The premise of the trips was to lay a foundation for our classes under the time and physical constraints of Casa Hogar. ...

Full Hearts
On Valentine’s Day of this year, five organizations (W, GENTS, 1000 Wells, IJM and Full Hearts) took a trip to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to film a documentary that would be a display of Aggies in service globally. Global and social justice programs are becoming increasingly important to the hearts of Aggies and we hope to ...show how our community works together and makes legitimate differences. During this hour and a half we hope to show perspective behind what Aggie service means. There are three aspects that have created the successes we (Texas A&M) are bringing to the world. First, we have organizations such as Fish Camp, Impact, and FLO’s preparing our freshmen to be confident leaders and enabling them to express their voice. Second, we have “the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation where students of Texas A&M University come together to say ‘thank you’ to the residents of Bryan and College Station” (Big Event) that exemplifies the heart of service for our local communities. And third, we have organizations such as those above that are looking to create benefits for other communities around the world. However, if we did not have the development of our students within leadership organizations and the opportunities to learn service locally, then we would struggle in our attempts in global assistance.
This documentary will be our chance to see:
• The benefits of all three aspects of our community working together
• Hear about the projects taking place within our student body
• Find out how we as students can take roles in service
• And be encouraged for the things we are accomplishing together
Following the showing of the documentary we will have a few speakers from different service fields talking about Aggie service. The last part of the night we will talk about a poverty simulation that W and GENTS are putting on (April 14th) and will be giving everyone a chance to find out how we can work together to show our dedication and aptitude for service. We hope you can join us and thank you for what you are doing for our community.
This event will be free of cost.
Time:7:00PM Sunday, April 5th
