Justin Fox, Time's "Curious Capitalist" blogger, recently read End the Fed and professes to be disappointed. He says Ron Paul, "succumbs to the temptation of promising an easy way out. Guess he's more of a typical politician than I'd been led to think."

Read "End the Fed" a few weeks ago and thought Congressman Paul was spot on. Justin Fox's dig at the good doctor seems to be self-serving.

I read "End the Fed" and the Time story. Mr. Fox needs to do more study. His comprehension skills are lacking.

According to the Chinese calendar, 2010 is the Year of the Tiger. We don't name our years, but if we did, this one might prospectively be called the Year of the Assassin.

You good gentlemen are doing exactly the right thing now by speaking up. I was very fortunate to not be drafted during the Viet Nam era. Even though I was young and didn't understand what our government was doing I came to realize it was a war for profit like so many others. Please do all you can to keep our countries young from volunteering for the armed services. If the government must take them, at least make them draft to send the sheep to slaughter.

There's tons of this stuff in the anti-government press but I wanted to find something a bit more neutral. It's out there but it is much more difficult to find. The MSM rarely bites the government hand that feeds it.... See More

And, as to those "friends" you're referring to they are doing completely unconstitutional jobs. There is no provision for federal law enforcement in the constitution and that was done so intentionally. None of those alphabet agencies have constitutional justification for their existence and, if the constitution is the supreme law of the land, they are criminals.

@ Keith: If we didn't have an FBI, there would certainly be an SBI (State Bureau of Investigations) in most states. In essence that is how it should be. Of course, until we're given back our right to "truly" defend ourselves from criminals, I see institutions that fight crime as absolutely necessary. That being said, I'm not saying the FBI has or has not participated in conspiratorial schemes. I take the agnostic position on this. I simply don't know. And it's going to take more than these two articles to convince me. I do not agree that the FBI are criminals even if it is an unconstitutional agency. Many people would deserve mercy for ignorance if we ever returned to enforcing our Constitution.

@ Justin: Your points are well taken. However, I must say that I can't simply assume you held some significant position with the DOD and that you know things. After all, this is Facebook. But if you did hold a position with them as you stated, I'm sure you had your sincere reasons for leaving.

I realize that Libertarians are marked. My trust does not run deep. Your "hopefully become allies" remark is something I just do not agree with in the slightest. My feelings on this topic were expressed in the above response to Andrew.... See More

Just know that I mean no disrespect when I disagree with any of you. There is a strong need for all of us to stick together in our desire to bring about real change to our government. Maybe we can all learn a few things from one another.

If we continue to listen to Keynesians in the next decade instead of those who tell us the truth, zero will start to look pretty good. The end result of destroying the currency is the wiping out of the middle class. Preventing that from happening should be our top economic priority.

Help with my lawsuit MAGEE v. USA, which is presently going to the U.S. Supreme Court on appeal from the U.S. Fifth Circuit. One of the questions deals with using Federal Reserve notes as the basis of the appraisal for me to re-purchase my farm & home from the Federal government. Anyone can file an Amicus brief within the next 30 days in support of... See More my petiton to the court. There is no longer a legal defintion for the value of what a DOLLAR is. It does not take a genius to figure out that railing against big government at home while championing it abroad doesn't make much sense -- one cancels out the other.

Getting rich at the cost of others is not Constitutionally protected.

The Constitution says nothing about people getting rich, being poor, being capitalist or communist (mainly because Communism had yet to exist).

If I am wrong, please inform. But I don't think I am.

For three decades, Texas congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul's extreme brand of libertarian economics consigned him to the far fringes even among conservatives. Not a few times, his views put him on the losing end of 434-1 votes on Capitol Hill. No longer....

The government's legal-tender money -- the dollar -- is now under questioning. While the commercial-banking fractional-reserve monetary engine is stalled with loan write-downs and bank failures, the Federal Reserve has expanded its balance sheet like never before.

ABSOLUTELY, AND by the people will depend on who is in congress, and if WE THE PEOPLE keep contacting them to let them know what WE EXPECT of them and what the heck is going on in DC at any given time. State Gov. as well. Ron Paul? Love his ideas and standards.

Cathal- a voice of reason. Although I do believe that corporations have become more corrupt...it is because of the government regulations, not the free market. The free market is just a vehicle, it will fluctuate and does allow for greed, corruption, charity and fairness. Left alone it will always correct itself as all people are instinctively greedy and selfish and will make consumer choices that benefit themselves.

Cathal is a spokesperson for the rich elite. If the is a rich business person, she's only trying to influence you for her own gain. If she ISN'T, than she really needs to read up on history and close her mouth for a little while.
It sounds to me that she thinks anything that works against turning this country into one big sweatshop is a bad thing.
