EqualityMaine Now here is an interesting and unfortunate bit of information...

Basically that clown has brought his personal family sibling problems into everyone else's life -- If there were any Christians out there they would realize he is violating Christs teachings (do unto other stuff) because he hates his sister and doesn't want her family to be connected legally to his.

Wasn't he the lawyer in California who when asked how marriage equality would detrimentally affect society responded to the Judge asking the question, "I don't know, your honor, I don't know."

EqualityMaine Happy New Year! Let's all make a resolution to talk to our family, friends and neighbors every day of 2010 about the importance of equality for all Maine families. Conversations across the state about love and respect are what will win the fight for equality.

EqualityMaine Let's all celebrate with New Hampshire tonight as they kick off 2010 with some wedding vows! We have more conversations to be had and work to do here now, but soon enough, Mainers will be celebrating marriage equality too.

Jeffry Burr and Neil Blair are just hours from their wedding, but there are no typical prenuptial jitters. After all, this is the third time they've exchanged vows.

EqualityMaine This may be a few days old, but it's important as we get ready for 2010. NOM is already making plans to to make marriage an issue in the upcoming races for governor and legislative seats.

www.bangordailynews.com
A lawsuit involving a national group opposed to gay marriage has far-reaching implications for the state’s campaign reporting and financing laws, especially since the National Organization for Marriage said it plans to advocate for supporters of “traditional marriage” in next year’s election.

Is anyone reporting on or filing legal suits over their illegal non-reporting of their sources of income in the last campaign? They need to know they aren;t above the law.

EqualityMaine A Bangor Daily News update....

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Nov. 3 vote on Question 1 may be recent history, but organizations on both sides of the issue are still busy raising money in preparation for the next showdown over gay marriage — whenever and whatever that may be.

I can't help but wonder what the "anti" force is afraid of, maybe that ALL people will be EQUAL? Grrrr! Shame on you for discriminating against our brothers and sisters. It makes me want to move to New Hampshire.

To win back marriage in Maine, we need to identify 60,000 new voters. It will take considerable resources to persuade these swing voters and to kick off the project we need to raise $10,000 before the end of the year.

It's sad in this day and age that there are still so many closed minded people out there, I wish there comes a day in my lifetime that I will be able to marry the man that I love.......

Thank you for this link and for the comments of your group. There is a truth here that is rapidly replacing the old beliefs of some of our churches. We will not forget which ones voted against our friends. This issue has long legs.

An issue for the Supreme Court?
Look what happened to California in 2008--going through the courts will anger and energize the other side just as much as going through the Legislature.

And if gay marriage were brought to the US Supreme Court, I have a hard time believing we would win... especially with Alito, Roberts, and Scalia on the Bench.

Sadly, going through the people is the safest way. We need to have more massive "coming out of the closet" parties. People need to know who we are. And the lies of the Religious Right need to be countered better and refuted more aggressively and publicly. Fundamentalism is the main threat, and they are well funded. I agree that people should not be allowed to vote on this issue anymore than Southerners should not have been allowed to vote on segregation or slavery.

Recently I found out after the election that my aunt and uncle voted yes for fear of polygamy. I was ashamed that they were coerced into believing that.
