A great Sapporo day hike with my good friend Margot up the back hills with a great view of the city and other surrounding peaksplus we were lucky to see the Japan Sea and the Pacific Ocean at the same time, which doesn't happen often.
Don't really care too much for this hike in summer but always love to do it each year... when the first snow hits and in winter, early spring isn't too bad either.

Off into the mountains in Daisetsu-zan this long weekend for 3 days and 2 nights and should be a real cold one for November. Going
to spent 2 nights up on the mountain in a very basic hut without heat
and the temperatures should be around minus 10c in the day time and
around minus 15c to 20c at night. the wind chil is ......suppose
to be sitting around minus 23c with wind speed over weekend some
between 20km up to 55km so not too bad for Daisetsu-zan. There should
be around 50cm of on the ground so we will take our skis a long with
our crampons and hope there will enough snow on tp to get a few runs.
If not we can always hea back down the mountain on the 2nd day and ski
the ski resort. How every it turns out I'm really looking forward to
getting back into some alpine winter conditions with some good friends

This is a beautiful loop hike offering great views of the Tanzawa mountain region and the ocean. The hike is not too demanding because of a cable car that will take us to 700 meters where we began the hike. Our summit is at 1200 meters and offers great panoramic views of the Tanzawa range and Kanagawa. This is a fairly... easy hike and a great first hike to try. While it is not the most difficult hike, it is very satisfying and the town below the cable car is picturesque.
Difficulty: Medium level fitness required. Some hill climbing to get to the summit.
Trip includes: Knowledgeable guide, healthy snack and hot tea.
