When Besse Jackson of Quilpie heard that Queensland Theatre Company was building a new home she was keen that the Company mark the event with truly unique native flora.

Besse had a Queensland Bottle Tree that she thought would be ideal at Queensland Theatre Company. The tree was twelve years old and quite mature and was planted in its new home at 78 Montague Road, South Brisbane on Saturday 11th May 2002. It sits well in our courtyard and is a beautiful feature, providing a central focus for the courtyard and a wonderful greeting point for the building.

Keep an eye out for renovations at Bille Brown Studio – and be sure to visit Besse and check out her new surroundings.

This is your last week to get your expressions of interest in for TAKING AIM - masterclasses with Max Gillies and Guy Rundle.

5 Weeks of workshops on writing satire for the stage. We want comedians, sketch writers, cabaret performers and writers...or pretty much anyone who is funny as hell, can shoot sacred cows and poke fun at our pineapple politics!

See our website for more information, and send your expression of interest to efryberg@qldtheatreco.com.au by this Friday!
