I feel that most of us are and were Cross Cultural Kids. maybe the America Indian are the closes to not being. but if you read Historical Reviews they also came from other countries.

Wow! I love this group. People feel freedom to pour out their heart, and reading all their posts is so therapeutic. It feels like I'm coming home, and I can't begin to express how great it is to have a familiar, comfortable place that is otherwise beyond reach. I second what Scott May and the others have said below! Thanks heaps for sharing your experiences!
In solidarity.

I'm sure you've heard this countless times, but you are doing a good thing here. Your site provides a great service for tcks, global nomads, diplobrats, expat kids, whatever the moniker...Thank you. For the first time ever for me, it feels like a homecoming - odd for us who do not have first hand knowledge of the traditional concept of 'home'. Although still quite alien to me, its good to know there's an 'us' that I belong to. I never really thought I needed to be an 'insider', was too used to being the opposite...but it feels surprisingly right!
I have never thought of focusing on defining myself as a tck, it always seemed to be something that I 'had to live with', and besides, it's probably another common trait of ours to dislike labels, LOL! But as I evolve, I am coming to realize that not only is it inescapable because it is the truth, it is, without doubt, healthier!
Over the years, I've written a lot from and about this perspective, without defining it, just taking the point of view of the perpetual outsider. It is surprisingly gratifying to put down the shield, take off the armour and kick back amongst kindred spirits!
I am in grad school (AGAIN, due to the Perpetual Student syndrome) and will most likely be focusing on tcks, or the various other names we go by as part of my thesis, which I believe may be worth developing and publishing. Now that I've found the site, I know where to go to if i need to conduct surveys of tcks for my studies :-)! (With all appropriate permissions, of course). That aside, it is an outstanding site and is a worthy cause for which to harness the power of facebook!
Thanks again, and keep it going!

I am so intensely glad I was recommended to this group! I was getting really frustrated when people would ask "So, where are you from?" and I would flail looking for a simple answer that didn't involve two continents and multiple moves. I felt like there was no one around me with whom I could identify.
Then bang, TCK comes into my life. Granted, I've only known about this for a short while, but already I've read over comments and stories, and it's made me realize that I'm going through what so many others have experiences too. I've found a group of people that "gets it", and that's simply amazing.
I would really like to say thank you to everyone involved in making TCK a fantastic resource for reaching out to, and getting connected with, people who have gone, or are currently going through, a similar experience. It makes me even a little more quietly proud about just how exciting it can be to have beautiful, different cultures in your life. (:

This is an an awesome place, with awesome people!! I joined TCKid about a year ago- I had allot of problems dealing with fitting in. After years of being in a third culture kid environment, coming back to my home country for school was devastating at first. it was very difficult to penetrate people's social circles here. i thought something was wrong with me.
I can't say TCKid fixed everything- i still have to deal with things from my experiences. but the healing in particular has been tremendous.
Because of this i have decided to volunteer on the site as a moderator, writing articles and such. Brice the founder of the website has put his career on hold, totally focusing his efforts and his time to this website- for no pay, just the smile of others. I have done as much as i can(in between 16 hours of class and 2 jobs) to keep this wonderful place going. I don't expect anyone to sacrifice in the same way me and Brice have, as well as countless others. But it does show how amazing this place is, and how much it has done for everyone. It's Great!

Hi TCKs,

Brice here. I'm a French/Vietnamese and Ethiopian TCK and I help TCKs find a sense of belonging and raise awareness.

I'm afraid I have some really sad news for the TCK community...
