What makes it popular to that extent is that it's a nice mixture of action, adventure, comedy, and, also contains deep feelings specially the relation between Tuco and his brother..

I am a huge western fan so for me it is the ultimate western, and my personal ultimate all-time movie. Clint's other two spaghetti westerns run it close though, with A Fistful Of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More being there or thereabouts. Between them they are definitely my 1,2,3!

Yup, I think it's the best movie ever. Although it's hard to decide because the other spaghetti westerns by Leone are great too.

It isn't the best movie ever, that would be the Godfather. Along with Once Upon a Time in the West it's the best western ever and firmly in the top ten of best movies ever.

Not the best film ever, but undoutedly one of the best. Certainly the most technically perfect western ever made.

No movie can ever be called "best movie ever," due to the subjective nature of the medium. you can't judge strictly from a technical standpoint, as there are many movies which come close to technical perfection but simply aren't all that interesting as entertainment. And once you factor entertainment value into the equation, you automatically have an unanswerable question, since how entertaining something is depends as much on the viewer as the product itself. Also, how does popularity factor in to the equation? While an excellently made and popular movie such as this one would easily get more votes of support than something equally well-made yet far less well-known in mainstream circles, such as Fritz Lang's M or Carol Reed's The Third Man, does that really make it a better film?
With that being said, is it the best movie ever? No, no movie can ever claim such a title. But it's definitely one of the films at the forefront of the contest.

Once upon a time in the west is awesome as well but I think G.B.U. is hands down the undisputed best western ever ... best film of all time is a tough one; pitching it's likes against the Godfather, Citizen Kane, Schindlers List etc but it is my favourite film.
Did you know that Sergio Leone was offered to be the Director for the first Godfather film but he turned it down for Once upon a time in America.....both amazing films but if Sergio Leone had directed the godfather and hadn't died so young he would probably be recognised as the best director ever...he and Ennio Morricone were such a good team...

Exactly right, the team of Leone and Morricone - pure Genius. Entertainment, excitement and art! The best western in my opinion also. John Wayne was suppose to be a western legends, but his movies are boring and slow, the cinematography cannot compare and of course the soundtrack are merely in the background, not integrated into the story. I have all the sountracks and enjoy listening to them, G.B.U, Once Upon a time in the West, For a few dallors more, A fistful of dollars.

Damn right, Clint is damn fine! I especially enjoy the Dirty Harry movies these days, with no computer graphics, no slowmotion bullets and people flying thru the air - they are gritty, realistic and gripping movies! No modern actor/ director has been able to make such good cop movies!
