@J.J.--i will give u the benefit of the doubt for your naive questions. The underwear bomber didn't blow up the plane, so i guess we shouldn't care about the situation, avvording to your rationale.
Please tell me the more pressing things that preclude us from discussing the lack of security for the President, and for airline travellers. It takes no energy to discuss, and i certainly have the time. If you don't, go back to your video games.

If you're so against "Socialism," I hope you aren't planning to collect Social Security. Oh yeah, and you should stop paying your income taxes too then. People who throw around the term "Socialism" as something to be feared obviously don't know what it really means. Just like Communism, Socialism is a victim of propaganda that was used to justify America's form of Democracy. In case you haven't been paying attention, most Americans don't take action unless they are made to fear something.

There's a balance there somewhere but I disagree with Virginia, the govt. serves as an agent of the people, not as an agent of big business to ensure profits for the corporations at the expense of the people.

Where the govt. has truly failed us was in protecting corporations from unfair trade practices of foreign based companies, especially those that left the U.S. as a result of regulations.

Protection from the govt. is at times necesssary because Virginia does touch on an issue, over regulation of our personal lives by govt. On the other hand, some of that is necessary. I don't need and will give the finger to the govt. when they tell me I can't smoke in my truck while I'm in California. F Montgomery County Maryland that tried to make Santa Clause illegal a few years back.... See More

Otherwise, sadly, it's Virginia's attitude that gave the far right the empowerment to seize the govt. and regulate it in such a fashion that we become just another object exploited by foreign powers to enrich them at our expense. As President, George Bush is the biggest criminal in this respect as he was the 'Great leader' of this movement, call him 'Dear Leader' or what ever you want but I know first hand how his 'agents' act and what they will do to you if you criticized him.

Govt. failed the U.S., it failed the People and it failed domestic corporations, here's part of the reason why.

And F NAFTA as well since the Republicans criticize it as ncessary to try to win votes but use it behind our backs to make sure their buddies who left the country exploit us tax free. Who here's forgotten the IRS report and GAO reports the Washington Post after being pestered by a certain poster...got back that proved my point years ago taht over 100,000 billion in lost tax revenues to just the Federal Govt. is lost each year as a result of this legalized money laundering by corporations? We wouldn't have a deficit if not for the Republican policies of protecting corporate profits at the expense of the people.

What we should have done is this.

Virginia and Jo Wiggins are both paint manufacturers (as an example). In (pick a date) 1995, a new EPA law requiring the removal of (insert any dangerous chemical name here) goes into effect.

Jo complies with the law. As a result, the cost of a gallon of paint to you and I rises as a result of these new costs in complying with the law from $2.00 a gallon to $5.00 a gallon.

Jo is now in 100% compliance.

Virginia however, leaves the US for China or Mexico, pick your enemy of the United States People. Both countries are on the take by US corporations who find it easier to bribe and own officials of foreign govt's.

As a result of bribe money (it's called donations here in the US), Virginia is now selling the same paint here in the US as she was before; but, now with more toxins in it because of no laws in China for a $1.00 a gallon. Seeing the opportunity to rape the US for profit, she raises the price of her paint to $3.99 a gallon. Undercutting Jo who is operating legally.

Once she puts Jo out of business, she raises her costs to $7.99 a gallon.

As citizens of the United States we must put aside these political hate attacks they've fed you all to hate the left and do what's right.

We need to produce domestically and anytime anyone from outside the country attempts to ship products into the US, someone must review the product and engage in price setting, tariffs, taxes, ect., on those products to protect domestic jobs and corporate profits.

Jo's paint should ahve been evaluated and regulated, with in reason, all the way to the price she sells it for. I don't think 100% profit is fair, nor 50% profit; but, the govt. can set a standard of 5% to 15% profit on many things and then tax, tariff ect all imports to make sure that no one is rewarded for substandard practices in foreign countries.

If we do this we become the greenest country on the planet of the earth before the end of Obama's Admin....

...simply by making sure that our laws are applied fairly and appropriately to all companies importing into the US.

We are under no obligation what so ever to tolerate China polluting and destroying it's habitat to make a cheap dollar in the US.

We are under no obligation to tolerate slave labor in Mexico, El Salvadore or Venezula(sp), if it costs a company $75.00 an hour (with health insurance, taxes, retirement per employee in the US) then we should tariff, tax foreign companies to make sure they don't force an increased tax burden upon the US citizens to undercut our society.

So this doesnt drag on, certainly, I got issue's with some on the left telling me i can't smoke in my truck while driving down an LA freeway; but, you know what...

...I'll give up that or more likely, simply just break the law and smoke in my truck anyways while on an LA freeway flipping the finger to the cop as I go by before I give up my ...

...my rights as a Citizen of the US to be a freeman, which for those of you who have not been following 8 years of Bush Judges, Bush I Judges and Reagan Judges taking away the rights of citizens in favor of corporate profits...

...I would rather tell the cops to go F themselves and the judge in court for telling me I can't smoke then suffer the abuses of what a company will do to you since they think that the Constitution of the United States is dangerous to their profits.

We fought a war in 1776 to throw off the tax burdens placed on us that made sure corporations didn't have to pay their fair share.

Let's not do it again.

No one has the right to make a profit if it comes at the expense of another person's abiltiy to feed their family, have medical care, retirement...no one deserves a retirement if it was done in such a fashion as to supress another person.

Only the judge in a court can sentence you to the loss of your rights for a criminal offense.

It's time to stop the dismanteling of the Constitution by foreign based and domestic corporations who feel that the rights and freedoms of the People violate their right to rape us for profits.

6. Campbell seems like a good guy. I like him, but he makes mistakes like many middle tier QBs. He is not in the company of Aaron, Drew, Peyton, Tony, or Brett, or Tom. If we can get a free agent tier 1 QB then go for it. Otherwise, stick with Campbell as long as you are willing to pick and nurture a first round QB pick next spring.

GOP back to its NIMBY Campaign : Dishonors the Country
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Saw Vin Weber defend Pete Hoekstra on AMR, about his statement in a fund raising letter asking for money if the people wanted to defeat weak kneed liberals bringing GITMO detainees to US soil. Amazing how GOPsters have been ... See Moregetting away with the NIMBY fear campaign. All sane and strong dwellers from the two sides of Pennsylvania Ave should fight this despicable political play with America's honor. For Pete Hoekstra to go around calling those bringing GITMO detainees to US soil weak kneed is the height of demagoguery. In fact those spreading fear of detainees are really the ones who are the Chicken-hawks. These are the ones making USA as the laughing stock of the world; people see the Cow-boys quaking in their boots from fear of its war time detainees. Administration's buckling down to this dishonor shows lack of backbone as well as a demonstration of our selfishness by our begging, pressuring or bribing of other countries to bring our detainees to their soil so the US soil is not soiled. It shows the moral bankruptcy of American Politicians who are not beyond making the country's name mud for their shallow political purposes.
